Every character has scores in the Virtues Vigor, Finesse, Sagacity, and Morale.
They determine how well a character performs in certain areas. In other games, they are often called attributes or abilities. In FK, they are a bit broader, and their effect on gameplay is rather strong.
Mechanically, they are mostly used as modifiers or limits. Some situation can call for a Virtue Check, which is basically just a regular DR with a Virtue, two Virtues, or one Virtue doubled as modifier.
Regular humans have scores between 1 and 4, averaging around 2. Scores up to 6 are reserved for Hero and Epic Tiers. Other Races may deviate from this scale.

The only natural way to improve a Virtue is via the Features Higher Virtue I and II.
Vigor represents physical size, strength, and endurance. It affects dealing and taking damage, skill in melee, and carrying capacity, among other things.
Finesse represents physical, mental, and social dexterity. It affects skill in ranged combat, stealth, reacting quickly in dangerous situations, readying items, and many other practical problems.
Sagacity represents intelligence and learning. It is most useful for working and resisting magic, but also for knowledge checks, crafts, and any activity that requires thinking.
Morale represents willpower and strength of character. It is vital for remaining in action in combat. It affects the ability to lead and the loyalty of Followers. Moreover, it's used for tests of faith, courage, patience, and resisting unfavorable conditions like hunger and cold.
Design Note: There is no Charisma score. All four Virtues can be applied to social interactions: Vigor as physical presence and intimidation, Finesse as persuasion and deception, Sagacity as capacity for discourse and reasoning, and Morale as natural charisma or trustworthiness. `
