Encumbrance is measured in Item Slots (IS). One-handed items typically take up 1 slot, two-handed 2, particularly bulky items more.
Many items are small enough to be Stackable. In such cases, a fracture is given, e.g. IS 1/20 or 0.05 means that 20 items (arrows etc.) can be stacked in 1 slot. In some cases, an appropriate container (quiver etc.) may increase the number of stackable items.
Some items have 0 IS. They are considered Tiny and can be carried without cost unless the GM rules otherwise in case of abuse.
Stackable Items not exceeding 20% of the stack's capacity are considered Tiny, unless there are other stacks of the same type below maximum capacity, or they are the only stack in a special container that cannot change size.
A number of IS equal to Finesse are Quick Slots (QS), representing clever item placement and level-headedness.
Drawing an item from a QS or storing it there costs 1 Quick Action each. If the currently held item is dropped rather than stowed away, the dropping and drawing is combined into a single Quick Action.
Accessing regular Item Slots works the same, but takes Complex Actions instead.
Note: QS are vital for certain actions, e.g. a quiver of arrows must be placed in a QS in order to reload at a normal pace.
Each character has a Free Limit of Vigor+4
IS,
and an Encumbrance Limit of double that.
Going over the Free Limit causes the Encumbered status.
Being Encumbered has similar penalties to being Wounded, except it doesn't incur a penalty for ranged attacks or other tasks that don't require much mobility. Wounded and Encumbered penalties don't stack -- the worse one counts.
At the start of the Morale Phase, an Encumbered character who is Wounded always becomes Dazed, if he isn't already. (He may be able to recover from Dazed that same Morale Phase.)
Equipped items count towards the maximum capacity, but don't use up QS.
IS//2
.There are (Vigor + 4) * 2
slots on an inventory sheet, evenly spread into two columns.
The left hand column represents the Free Limit.
The notation of each item depends on its IS cost:
Next to each slot, there is a box for tracking E (Equipped) or Q (Quick Slot).
